Sometimes we get in a hurry and we don’t have time to make something from scratch. In that case we grab for a box and hope our family doesn’t complain. Well, in Lynn’s house she isn’t going to get away with that when it comes to Mac and Cheese because her kids have tasted the good stuff!
Even name brands won’ t do when you can make a homemade version that tastes as good as this does and really doesn’t take any longer to cook. It is so easy! If you just want the recipe scroll down.
Bring 8 cups of water to a boil.
Add 12 ounces of pasta. Use your favorite kind. The kids love bow tie pasta.
Cook 10 – 12 minutes. Taste to be sure it is cooked just how you like it. Then drain it and pour it into the bowl you will be serving it in. Be sure there is enough room to add the cheese mixture and stir when it is done.
Take the 1/3 of a 2 lb block of Velveeta cheese and cut it up so that it will melt quicker. Add 1/4 cup of milk and the cut up cheese to a saucepan.
Heat over low to medium heat until melted. Be certain to stir often so that it does not burn. Slower is better, don’t rush.
When the cheese is melted, pour over the pasta.
Stir thoroughly to coat all of the pasta in that delicious cheese sauce.
Of course the possibilities are endless. Add meat to make it a meal or add some vegetables if you wish. In our house, we like to add the meat and veggies on the side so we can enjoy the Easy Cheesy Mac and Cheese as prepared.
What is your favorite kind of pasta?
